Using Sable

Importing Credit Reports

Sable integrates with SmartCredit to securely import your credit reports from all three bureaus. Here's how to get started.

Overview

To use Sable effectively, you need to import your credit report. We partner with SmartCredit to pull your 3-bureau credit report securely. Once imported, Sable automatically parses and organizes your credit data so you can identify issues and generate dispute letters.

The import process takes about 10-15 seconds and pulls data from Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion.

What Gets Imported

Credit Scores

Your score from each bureau (Experian, Equifax, TransUnion).

Personal Info

Name variations, addresses, and employers on file.

Tradelines

All credit accounts, including balances, limits, and payment history.

Negative Items

Collections, late payments, charge-offs, and bankruptcies.

Security & Privacy

We take the security of your data seriously:

  • Your SmartCredit credentials are never stored—they're used once for the import
  • All data is encrypted in transit and at rest
  • Your data is stored securely and never shared with third parties
  • You can delete your data at any time from your account settings

Troubleshooting

Import failed with invalid credentials

Double-check your SmartCredit email and password. Try logging into SmartCredit directly to confirm your credentials work.

Import is taking too long

Imports usually complete within 15 seconds. If it's taking longer, try refreshing the page and starting again. SmartCredit's servers may be slow.

Missing data after import

Some bureaus may not have data for certain accounts. This is normal—not all creditors report to all three bureaus.

Common Questions

How often can I import my report?

You can import as often as your SmartCredit plan allows. We recommend importing after each dispute round to track your progress.

Does importing affect my credit score?

No. Importing your own credit report is a "soft inquiry" and does not affect your credit score.

Can I use a different credit monitoring service?

Currently, Sable only supports SmartCredit. We're working on adding more providers in the future.
